ScatterKings

scatterkings-studio-page

Many game studios are trying to find ways to entertain players and stand out from the crowd. This is easier said than done, but one online slot developer that has recently caught our attention is ScatterKings.

ScatterKings launched in November 2025 with an initial portfolio of games, including Coin of Cleo, Big Bob, and a few others. The developer has since released more than 30 games, including exclusives for one of its partner casinos.

On this ScatterKings studio page, we’ll take a closer look at the company, its mission, USPs, most talked-about games, markets, and more.

The founders

The founding team consists of three iGaming veterans with experience from one of Europe’s major established gaming suppliers.

  • Steven Batchelor-Manning — CTO
  • Boro Brumen — CPO
  • Steven Cross — CCO

All three came from NOVOMATIC’s interactive division/Greentube, giving the studio considerably more industry experience than its relatively young corporate age might suggest.

Steven Batchelor-Manning previously served as Director of Games Technology at Greentube and had been with the company for more than eight years. He was heavily involved in its RGS technology and had experience with machine learning and blockchain.

Boro Brumen was previously Head of Games Product at Greentube, while Steven Cross was Managing Director of Greentube’s Netherlands business and previously held senior games-development/operations positions.

That is an experienced, strong founding team that sets expectations and possibilities other new game studios are in awe of.

ScatterKings mission

Differentiation is key to catching the attention of online casinos and players, as competition today is fierce.

You don’t only have to compete with some of the most established game studios such as Pragmatic Play, Play n GO, the Evolution RNG umbrella of brands, Thunderkick and many more, but also a set of new game studios trying to make a name for themselves.

ScatterKings’ strategy is to focus on “quality over quantity”.

ScatterKings says the online-slot market has become saturated with repetitive, templated content. Its answer is to make fewer games, but put considerably more emphasis on:

  • Distinctive visual identity
  • Proven mathematical/mechanical foundations
  • Player retention
  • Tailored volatility
  • Strong audiovisual production
  • Technical reliability
  • Operator collaboration
  • Localisation and bespoke games

The company explicitly says operators need fewer, higher-quality games rather than huge volumes of content.

Its strategy also isn’t simply to make one-off slots. ScatterKings increasingly talks about game worlds, franchises and scalable content families while also being prepared to create exclusive games for chosen operators.

In summary, ScatterKings is positioning itself as a boutique, premium supplier rather than a high-volume slot factory.

Most talked about Scatter Kings slots

ScatterKings has released more than 30 online slots as of September 2026, and we decided to take a closer look at 5 of the most talked-about releases.

Coins of Cleo

Game facts:

  • Theme: Egyptian
  • Released: 18 December 2024
  • RTP: 95.28%
  • Max Win: 6,000x
  • Volatility:  2.5/5

The most talked-about online slot by ScatterKings is Coins of Cleo. This might not be so surprising, as the Egyptian theme is so popular thanks to slots like Book of Ra, Book of Dead, Legacy of Dead and many more.

Coins of Cleo is not your typical “Book of” slot, though; this game is about landing enough coins to make things happen.

Landing 6 coins in the base game triggers the Hold n Win bonus game. In the bonus game, you then want to land even more coins to reach high multiplier levels and to reset the spin count.

The medium volatility, combined with the straightforward features and pleasant graphics, while having the possibility to win big, makes this game popular among many players.

Big Bob’s Gold

Game facts:

  • Theme: Fishing
  • Released: 31 January 2026
  • RTP: 93.69%
  • Max Win: 11,000x
  • Volatility:  4/5

This has probably become the company’s most heavily promoted newer franchise that has generated coverage from multiple industry publications.

Big Bob’s Gold is in many ways a typical fishing-themed slot, but apart from the regular free spins where you want to see fishermen catching money symbols and a progress bar, you might also get to play a Hold n Win bonus.

The Hold n Win bonus follows the same style as seen in Coins of Cleo.

Coins Forged in Fire

Game facts:

  • Theme: Fruit
  • Released: 27 February 2026
  • RTP: 93.96%
  • Max Win: 12,500x
  • Volatility:  4/5

Coins Forged in Fire is a classic 3×3 fruit-themed slot with 5 paylines and uses one special feature.

Land the Coin Forged in Fire symbols on the middle reel to collect any coin scatters in view.

This is one of those simple yet entertaining games where what you see is what you get. It also offers 4 non-progressive jackpots.

Great Catsby

Game facts:

  • Theme: Animal
  • Released: 27 August 2025
  • RTP: 95.10%
  • Max Win: 2,500x
  • Volatility:  3/5

A title such as Great Catsby instantly catches your attention, and the 1920s style is also spot on.

This is a 5×3 slot with 40 fixed paylines. You’ll want to see those wilds land, as they collect and unlock any fixed jackpot symbols and coin values.

When you trigger the free spins you get a chance to pick 43 random upgrades consisting of extra spins, wild multipliers, coins and jackpots.

Book Bonanza Gold

Game facts:

  • Theme: Egyptian
  • Released: 28 August 2026
  • RTP: 93.68%
  • Max Win: 11,000x
  • Volatility:  4/5

Book Bonanza Gold has a lot to offer. Apart from the popular Egyptian theme, you can trigger Free Spins with an expanding symbol and the familiar Hold & Win bonus.

Landing 3, 4, or 5 Book Scatters triggers 10, 15, or 20 Free Spins, while 6 or more Gold Bar Scatters trigger the Hold & Win bonus.

We also play with Mystery Symbols and a chance to win up to 11,000x the bet.

The Book Bonanza Gold Free Spins combines the typical “Book of” style of expanding symbols with a progress bar often seen in fishing slots.

Where are ScatterKings slots available?

ScatterKings currently holds a Danish gambling license through the Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden), allowing its content to enter Denmark’s regulated market. Its Danish launch with RoyalCasino took place in February 2026.

The Austrian market is important for ScatterKings, and this may not be surprising given the founders’ history and experience.

However, ScatterKings does not appear to hold its own Austrian online gambling concession. Instead, its games entered the Austrian market through a partnership with Win2day, Austria’s licensed online gambling operator, which is operated by Österreichische Lotterien. The partnership includes the exclusively created Sweet Win2Day title.

ScatterKings’ Malta Gaming Authority application also appears to be progressing through the final stages as of 2026.

Will ScatterKings slots be available at UK casinos?

ScatterKings’ strategy is to enter regulated European markets first, rather than immediately pursuing loosely regulated/global volume.

ScatterKings slots are currently not available for UK players, as the game study lacks a valid (UK Gaming Commission) UKGC license.

The UK market is also one of the most competitive, so we don’t expect them to pursue a UK license anytime soon.

However, we will of course update this ScatterKings studio page as soon as anything changes regarding their UK license.

How are the RTPs on ScatterKings slots?

We haven’t found that ScatterKings offers various RTP versions on their slots yet, although they likely will in the future.

The RTP’s do vary from one game to another, though, so it’s advisable to check the game rules before playing.

Currently documented examples span roughly 93.9%–95.2% RTP, rather than there being a single ScatterKings house RTP.

ScatterKings use of AI

AI is taking over everywhere, and some companies use it more than others.

ScatterKings does use AI-assisted technology, but it emphatically does not position itself as an AI-generated-art studio.

Its launch materials describe a combination of human/hand-crafted artwork, cloud-native infrastructure, and AI-enhanced production technology.

CCO Steven Cross has said that ScatterKings doesn’t use AI-generated artwork. The company’s argument is effectively that AI should improve the production pipeline without replacing the creative/artistic element that differentiates its games.

So, ScatterKings uses AI behind the scenes but deliberately rejects AI-generated slot artwork as its creative identity; instead, its AI strategy appears to focus on production efficiency, infrastructure, and development support, rather than having AI generate the finished game’s artistic identity.
