How to play Pirots 4

Pirots 4 uses the popular CollectR mechanic, where the birds collect any symbols that match their colour. New ones then replace the symbols, and there are also special symbols and a collecting feature, among many other things.

This is a highly volatile slot, so we urge you to play it carefully, even though the playful graphics might indicate something else.

When playing from the UK, you can start playing at 20p per spin, rising to a maximum of £2 per spin when aged 18-24 and £5 per spin when aged 25 or older.

There are plenty of features on offer in Pirots 4, but it never gets complicated due to its calm pace and straightforward execution. You will be in for a few surprises, though.

Collecting Symbols

Collecting symbols and wilds fills up the meter above the grid. You get special symbols each time it is filled, and it can store up to 3 of them, which are then released at the same time.

Bird Swaps and Fights

Two birds next to each other perform a swap where they switch positions, and can help you start collecting new symbols and wins.

When three or more birds end up adjacent to each other after wins have been collected, they end up in a fight and leave the game area to find new positions. A 5×5 area is also removed from regular and special symbols that are collected or triggered.

Corner Bombs

Each corner of the game area has a bomb, and it detonates when a bird collects a symbol of the same colour in that corner.

A 3×3 area is then removed, and the game area will expand in that section.

This also opens up a tunnel through which the birds can move, and once all corners have been removed, the birds will be able to teleport themselves between these areas when the right criteria are met.  

Special Symbols

The special symbols can consist of wilds, symbol upgrades, scatters and super scatters, black holes, and more.

Lost in Space

Clearing all symbols from the game area triggers the Lost in Space feature. It starts with 3 spins that reset each time a new symbol lands on the reels. You want to see plenty of high-value coins on the grid but in favourable positions that the birds can access so that you collect as many of them once the spins are played.

Alien Invasion

The bandit is back in Pirots 4 and appears in a spaceship that collects all collect symbols seen in the columns. When a bird is collected, it ends up in a fight. If the bandit wins the fight, it gains a multiplier. The feature ends when a bird wins the battle or when all birds are defeated.

3 scatters are needed to trigger the bonus game. You play 5 free spins where the size of the grid, the meter, and symbol upgrades are persistent and don’t reset between the spins.

The long win sequences, the craziness, and the humour that we experienced in Pirots 3 are all there again in Pirots 4, and that in itself should mean that the fourth edition will also become a global hit.

We can only imagine how tricky it was for ELK Studios to decide where to take this fourth edition, as they want to keep players happy while simultaneously giving them a new experience.

It turns out that they went for something in between, as they kind of play it safe while giving a winning concept continuous life. After playing Pirots 4 for a long time, we can understand how this decision made the most sense.

To start with, we find that the features offered in Pirots 4 resemble those used in Pirots 3.

For example, the collection meter is intact from before, and we also have a Lost in Space feature that replaces the previous coin game. However, the element with the lassos, money bags, and scorpions was more fun in Pirots 3.

We also have an Alien Invasion that is similar to the Showdown, but better this time.

This is all fine, as players can continue playing their favourite slo,t but in a new environment with enough tweaks to make it feel fresh while keeping it all very familiar.

This all makes sense from a business and entertainment perspective, but it wouldn’t have hurt if ELK Studios added a bit more innovation into the mix. They probably saved that for Pirots 5 and beyond, as this was the time to ride on the success wave for a bit longer before dropping everything and going completely off script.

ELK Studios has the equivalent of the Aviator movies in terms of brand value in the online casino industry with the Pirots series, and they treat it with the care and professionalism it deserves. They retained what made Pirots 3 such a massive hit, changed the surroundings, and provided players with more of what they enjoyed. Experiencing the birds collecting symbols remains as satisfying as ever.

Pirots 4 will achieve its mission and become a huge success.
